HALFWAY HOUSE PROGRAM

This group is led by returning citizens who have become community leaders and, in turn, coach the participants to become leaders in their environments. The sessions are interactive and deal with today’s issues. Participants get coached and encouraged to look at what their interests are, or were, before going to prison. Freedom by Design helps them tap into their individual passion for sports, music, teaching and writing, and gain a sense of their own contribution and potential — and their future as community leaders.

The program also addresses basic needs, including assistance obtaining proper identification, transportation passes, clothing, and support in finding employment.
